This one is dedicated to the kids like me
The kids who can’t look past the Ds and the Es
The kids who try their hardest to make their parents proud, but all they get is cut down,
Society expects everyone to pass these exams,
But the harsh reality is, not everyone is the best
When it comes to these tests.
There is a theory,
You have the monkey, who’s able to climb the tree,
Ever seen a shark walks on land with its two feet?
How many of us believe in the blind system of exams,
Where you are forced to cram.
Equations and theories you know you won’t need,
But yet you have to so you can please,
The judgmental society and all of its hateful beings.
Do you not realize that instead of educating yourself,
You are cramming your head?
The great Einstein once said,
“The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.”
But clearly, society don’t like Einstein or his theories
I don’t like him either; he contributed to half our misery.
The education system does not teach you to think outside the box,
I know most of you will disagree,
But explain to me,
The harsh reality,
That the kids like me,
Have to deal with,
Every single day.
I can assure you,
That we are more than the Ds and the Es and the Us.
We will not be held back by a few letters that mask our true talents in the fields that are outside of education.
We are all born to achieve greatness in some form or the other.
I’m not here to say that education is not important
I’m here to say, educate yourself, but don’t deceive yourself.
You memorizing facts off a textbook don’t mean you hold the world at the palm of your hand.
It just means you know maybe 0.o11% of what life will teach you.
In its cold and bitter form.
Textbooks don’t teach you how to survive life.
After exams, you have a topic that puts so much pressure on your head
Which is the constant debate
Between choosing a career that makes you happy,
Or doing what society deems fit.
I’m having a hard time choosing which type of meal I want from the KFC menu
And I’m supposed to be selecting the career path?
Society, you’re a funny one aren’t you?
Hello, how may I help you?
I’d like to order a 2-piece meal.
Crumb or no crumb?
Baked or fried?
Would you like a double major with that?
Where do we go from here?
Kfc or a double major?
For now, I think ill just enjoy a cheeseburger.
